PhD title: Subtle impacts of marine vessel traffic on ocean wildlife informs conservation and management
Lincoln’s childhood fascination with the ocean led her to study marine science at the University of Victoria, Canada. Then after, she worked as a Research Assistant for the Sea Around Us, at the University of British Columbia, Canada, updating all maritime countries catch reconstructions in order to gain a better understanding of global fisheries. In 2017 she travelled to Australia where Prof. Dirk Zeller had created The Sea Around Us – Indian Ocean and where she continued her work in fisheries science. While working as the Senior Research Assistant of the Sea Around Us – Indian Ocean , she decided to pursue a PhD in Marine Science in the Marine Futures Lab studying the effects of vessel traffic noise on wildlife in marine protected areas.
